Ireland are in the Euros!

Ireland is going to the Euro 2012’s! They have beaten Estonia 5-1 on aggregate. 4-0 away from home and 1-1 at home which is interesting. Why was Ireland so successful away from home? Is this a once off? No, in fact Ireland hasn’t lost an away game since the 12^th of September 2007 against Czech Republic! For an Irish team that we have that’s pretty impressive but why isn’t our home matches as successful? There are many, possible geographical reasons for this. It could be the climate that they prefer sunnier weather then our rainy climate but this wouldn’t make much sense as Ireland has ta similar climate to the U.K. where most of our players play. It may be that in some of the poorer countries we play who can’t afford to have a good a pitch and stadium as us and we play better on a rough pitch. In my opinion the players don’t like the pressure of having 50,000 fans watching them in the stadium, they prefer to have their opponent’s fans putting their own team under pressure which makes sense. Well no matter if Ireland deserve to be at the Euros we are there and I know they will do us all proud!
